My Weird Mood

Yeah I have mood swings I admit it. Some seem stronger than they were before I got pregnant I think maybe I am just a little easier effected by them.

I've been throwing a pity party and just kinda trying to figure things out for myself.

Firstly Donnie IMed me out of no where hte other night trying to be hateful because he's probably jealous and he said it was a deliberate attempt to replace Mackenzie. I mean I would love to have Mackenzie home but its just not in the cards right now. But if I was trying to replace Mackenzie I would have learned my lesson from Skylar.... and yes I heard it then too.... But for some reason his asinine stunt is bothering me.

I guess I feel so disconnected. My two closest female friends are in far off lands lol... and I can't share a happy moment with them except on the occasional telephone call. My family hasn't called me at all. Rick's reaction still isn't what I would like it to be but my expectations are two high and just hates shopping but Input would be nice when buying things for his son.l WHen I was pregnant with Mackenzie my oldest sister was pregnant at the same time (I gave birth 5/31 and she had Matthew 5/24) and my middle sister and I were real clsoe for a moment LOLOL. Then when I was pregnant with Skylar my middle sister was pregnant with the twins so we did everything together pretty much. (Her twins bday is 10/4 and Skylar's is 10/21) Now all my sisters are done with their babies *I think* and I am all lonesome LOL. Its just an adjustment pregnancy I guess I have no family around and my close Army friends have moved or are moving before the baby comes. Every Pregnancy is different and this is one difficult for me emotionally in a new way.

What are some experiences some of you have had being away from Family and friends? I am not new here but I don't have my little groupie of friends anymore lol.

I have a new best friend LOL

So for all you scrapbookers I have an enabler alert for you. Have you seen the cheap quaility name brand stuff you can get from the likes of TJ Maxx, Marshall's and Ross? I mean its probably old news to you but its new to me and why didn't anyone share? LMAO. I got two premade scrapbooks for my daughter and her friend to just stick their pictures in for %6 each.... K and Company!!
So its not cheesy and its quality! WOOT

Now the reason why I posted this in the baby blog lol...
I loove these stores but so far my best luck came from Marshall's Why I have two Ross' Two TJ maxx' and Two Marshall's LOL...is beyond me but hey... More opportunity for these deals.

Calvin Klein Snow Suit retails $44 and I got it for $5

Another Calvin Klein Special lol Pullover, Shirt and Jeans retails $56 & i got it for $7

Polo jogging suit retails for $30 and I got it for $7

DKNY Baby Romper retails for $20 I got it for $5

and this is just Carters but I love these type of outfits that have a matching blanket. I got this in NB size cause I am almost positive little man is going to be tiny like his big sister... So I will have to go back and get the bigger size...
Tag says $24 and I got it for $9.99 and Blanket was $17 and I got it for $6.99

I also got a Calvin Klein Romper I didn't get it out of his storage thing but it was like $5 or $7 (now I want to matching onesies lmao and bibs...)

Oh and this little button down that will look cute with Cords or Jeans with a sweater I bought him on Ebay from Children's place... Don't cha think its cute?
Another Carters Brand for $3.00

Oh yes and Olenka gave me the tip that Ross has Maternity Clothes. I got me an adorable pair of black capri's I can dress up with two blouses I bought. So something cute comfy and Casual I can buy a fancy pair of flip flops and wear to church or everyday... Thanks for the tipppp How did I neglect not shopping there for so long?

Unbelievable that these are all brand new, Name brand clothes cheaper than Children's Place, Wal-Mart and Target.... ALSO cheaper than even most Consigment sales and thrift stores lol....

So yesterday morning we headed out to find a yard sale but God decided to send us rain... so I thought about this one Thrift store or Consignment store that Betty and I happened upon a few months ago... Rick and I went to find it. BINGO its OPEN and I found some little Peter Rabbit Outfits, A Ralph Lauren Romper, Cute baby hats, and Another Blanket set like the doggy one I spent the same amount of money on the used as I did on the new!

People that know me know I don't shop at Walmart I refuse to spend a dime there. I went an over an entire year without shopping there. I stopped wanting to do business with Walmart in Feburary 08 due to their business practices and how they have directly effected the economy and MY life. So yesterday when we went to see this awesome consignment sale they weren't open for another hour but we had driven 25-30 miles. I said Rick lets go to Walmart and just WALK around. I don't want to spend money just walk around the store. I was a little curious as to see if they had any Peter Rabbit clothes like they used to as well. So we walked around Walmart and then we were bored after about 30 minutes and we both still felt confident that our family doesn't go there for business. The prices aren't that much cheaper than Target (I found the same outfit at Target even LOL) Rick and I just kinda laughed off the fact we weren't even tempted by them. Customer Service was rude as usual too.

Our TV's are breaking one right after another in our house so I kept pitching proposals to Rick about getting him his promised Homecoming Present he has wanted. I did the research. I called several techy people. I got a tip that his TV was going on Sale at Target... We grabbed a rain check when they ran out still unsure we wanted to spend that much money at this point... Its a good thing I finally talked him into at least paying for half because we got it for even a cheaper price than the sale price. He played being daddy to his TV while Skylar and I went and had some fun and registered for the few things I spied at Target that Babies R Us or anywhere else didn't carry. Plus with us being Army and all our friends and family spaced out world wide I don't know where they feel comfortable shopping so I have registered at Target, Sears, Babies R Us, and Burlington... Just do a search for my name or contact me for the info...

Pregnancy Update *again*

I had my normal monthly doctors appointment. Rick and I went together... no entourage haha. We got there at 10 am. They had us in the back shortly after for my 20 week Ultrasound. The baby's top of his head was right under my belly button. Then his abdomen. They saw his heart valves all quickly and all beating great we heard the heart beat. Then we saw his spine and of course his hands were everywhere. He was tugging on his umbilical cord... silly boy and practicing breathing and sucking on his fingers.
Ut oh we ran into a problem. He was sitting Indian style breech.... She really wanted to see the sex and Skylar really wanted to know. (Personally I wanted to know a little cause I was tired of yellow lol.) The baby was being stubborn. So the Ultrasound Tech jiggled me a little and had me adjust a bit... Go figure... you rub a male's back and he rolls right over.... THATS right

Nursery Ideas!

Originally I wasn't going to find out the sex of the baby. Skylar had other ideas. So I've given in not to mention yellow is really getting on my nerves and the LACK of unisex... Okay its still possible in this day and age for the baby just to be modest right? Are there people out there that have made it a secret?

My confession today is this. I found out I was pregnant I bought the crib bedding before Christmas... ONLY because it was marked down drastically and it was Wendy Bellissimo... Something I have drooled over since my nephew Chandler was born. It wasn't the design that was promised to me but I still thought it was CUUUTTTEEE and it matched Skylar's theme in her room. Babies R Us has discontinued Wendy Bellissimo. Where is Wendy Bellissimo for sale now? Ebay is way over priced on some things. We first chose Wendy Bellissimo Sir Leaps Alot
What I had wanted was Starlight... that's what Chandler had.

Question is... Is the lavender making it Girlie? Is it not a safe bet to stick with? I figure if I can't justify spending the amount of money on the rest of the pieces or they can't be located I can do the similar accessories that go with Lambs and Ivy Froggies.. Its not quite as elegant but it will work right?

The huge consigment sales hit consecutively and Rick picked up the same Peter Rabbit bedding as I had with Skylar (no picture available) so now we have a few Peter things and yes I have a small collection of expensive Peter Rabbit things and a few inexpensive. I have one of the orignals of the book printed in the early 1900's. But alas I think the bedding can be considered boyish since it's mostly blue.

Rick was showing a little interest in making this A New Recruit thing into the theme and doing possibly a camo theme?? IDK... He has plenty of toys and things I can surely use for deco... HAHA

So anyone else have any cute ideas? Do you think one is girlie or too boyish? 4 days till I know the sex.

Xanga suggestion ~ "would only get 2 packages of newborn sized and 3-4 packages of size 1 4 packages of size 2 and then 6 packs of size 3 they seem to say in those the longest, for cloth diapers you need special detergent and a stripping agent and make sure you wash them about 7 times beore using them if you've never used cloth diapers just email me and ill give you the info. you also need your wipes either the disposable kind of the cloth kind and with that some solution . and a tub to put them in. you'll need some type of diaper pail for the cltoh diapers and a diaper genie or a diaper dekor plus is what we have and love it. you will also want a blanket to cover up the baby while your chaign them so they wont get cold and a special toy that they cna play or lok at jsut when they are being changed this will help imensily when they get older and want to scoot all over the place, also have extra socks on the changing table dont ask me why but they always seem to stick thir foot or sock in poo and then they need new ones. make suretoget a coolmist humdifier most babies get congested with in 2 weeks of coming home and thats the only thing that will help them sleep"

Is it just me I hope Breast Pumps aren't in Greek??

I tried nursing and pumping with my first two children. Mackenzie got nipple confusion thanks to an unnamed source grrrrrrr and no one wanting to HELP me. My "adopted" mother was like the Breastfeeding Cloth Diapering Nazi... but did she teach me anything about it NOOOO. The lactation consultant was worthless she would attach Mackenzie and then leave. I am like wahhh. I had a manual pump at the time and I could sit there and pump for an hour and literally get an ounce. That wasn't going to cut it. So needless to say between his latex enabler and my lack of knowledge and support he didn't even nurse a month.

Round two... Skylar did a little better although people thought I was starving her. You know if you give a breastfed baby a bottle of formula they get that wasted drunk look? Well thats what Skylar looked like so then I started getting pressure from my Pedi and sister OMG there was no letting up... This time I tried an electric pump... again pretty worthless I swear squeezing my chest probably produced more milk.

Round Three.... I am 99% sure I will be WIC-less.... I am again bound and determined to nurse... I haven't even thought about buying bottles because the bottle will just be a temptation. So I think my only way to go is a Hospital Grade Breast Pump... Then I started freaking. I see so many different types of Medela breast pumps... Are they hospital grade? Are they the best of the best? Which style is the best? Is there another brand? Where do I look how do I review. UGH HELP...

Gender Prediction Tests

Old Wives Tales Gender Prediction

38% chance
of a boy

62% chance
of a girl

Congratulations!
The old wives tales indicate that you are having a girl

Baby Gender Prediction Based On Baby's Heart Rate
One of the popular theories on baby gender prediction is based on the baby's heart rate.

The theory states that if your baby's heart rate was 140 beats per minute and above, you would be having a girl. If the heart rate was under 140 beats per minute, then you would be having a boy.

While this would be a quick and easy baby gender prediction method, there is actully no evidence that this theory is accurate. There is recent study, "Sex, Heart Rate, and Age" from Terry J. DuBose, M.S., RDMS; Director Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, which indicates there is no correlation between fetal heart rate and the gender of the baby.

Peridot's has been right at 160

Needle or Wedding Ring Gender Prediction Method
This an easy baby gender prediction method to try. Take a pin, needle, or wedding ring and attach it to a thread or strand of hair. Hold the dangling item over mom to be's belly while she is lying down. If the needle or wedding ring swings in a strong circular motion, you will be having a girl. If it moves in a to and fro motion like a pendulum, you will be having a boy.

An alternate version of this baby gender prediction method is to dangle the needle or wedding ring over the expectant mom's wrist instead of belly.

Drano / Draino Gender Prediction Method
This baby gender prediction method has been around for decades, and makes it's rounds regularly on the web as a potential way to find out what gender your baby is.

The recipe to test this method is below, but it is NOT advisable that you try it as it produces very toxic fumes and the results are unreliable.

The drano / draino gender test should be performed after the 4 month of pregnancy.

This test must be performed outside in a glass / jar that holds can hold twice as much urine as you use as there is a bubbling, smelly, and caustic chemical reaction when you add your urine to the crystal drano.

What is needed for the Drano / Draino Gender Prediction Test:
Approximately 2 tablespoons of CRYSTAL Drano
Medium glass or glass jar. It is best to just throw the mixing glass away after performing this test.
Two to Three ounces of urine, preferably the first morning urine.
Take the test materials outside. Add your urine to the glass jar with the crystal drano in it. There will be a rapid chemical reaction and it is best to stay well away from the glass jar while the fumes are being produced.

When the reaction stops, observe the color of the test.

If the mixture darkens to a brownish color within the first 10 seconds - It is a boy.
If there is no darkening or color change after 10 - 15 seconds - It is a girl.

When you are done, you will need to carefully dispose of the mixture as it will have a very bad smell and still be very caustic.

The color results above are not very reliable as you will find many different variations of the colors in the results with people interpretting them all differently. This is not a reliable way to determine the gender of your baby, and could have serious side effects to the mom to be if the fumes are inhaled or the mixture gets on the skin. NOT RECOMMENDED as a baby gender prediction method.

Congratulations!

You have a 42% chance of having a boy.
And you have a 57% chance of having a girl.

And Here's Why...
You are carrying the extra weight around the hips and bottom, so it's a girl.
The hair on your legs is growing faster during pregnancy, so it's a boy.
Your feet are colder than they were before pregnancy. You are having a boy.
You refuse to eat the heel of a loaf of bread. You are having a girl.
Dad-to-be is gaining weight right along with Mom-to-be, which means that you'll have a boy.
The maternal grandmother doesn't have gray hair (dyed or natural), so a girl will be born.
You had morning sickness early in pregnancy, so you are expecting a girl.
You are not looking particularly good during pregnancy. Therefore, it must be a girl, because girls steal their mother's looks.
Your chest development has not been very dramatic during pregnancy. You should expect a boy.
Since the sum of the mother's age at conception and the number of the month of conception is even, it will be a boy.
Your urine is a dull yellow color, so you will have a girl.
You are craving sweets, which means that it is a girl.
Your nose hasn't changed during pregnancy, which indicates a girl.
You have been craving fruits, so it is a girl.
Your baby's heart rate is 140 or more beats per minute, so it's a girl.
You must have orange juice every day, so it's a girl.
You are having headaches, so it's a boy.
Your belly looks like a basketball, so it's a boy.
You use the handle, so it's a boy.
